It highlights the need to embed mental health awareness and competence within teaching practices, institutional structures, and quality assurance systems, ensuring a consistent and sustainable response across all levels of higher education.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The paper emphasises the critical role of teaching staff as first points of contact for students in distress, while also underlining the importance of clear institutional frameworks, referral pathways, and organisational support. It proposes practical strategies for integrating mental health training into existing academic development systems, aligning policies with everyday practices, and strengthening institutional resilience.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By offering a comprehensive governance perspective, the SUNMENTORS Policy Recommendations aim to support higher education institutions in creating more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable learning environments.
