The SunMentors project is gaining momentum!
On April 3rd and 4th 2025, all project partners gathered in Athens for an intensive working session dedicated to the final development of the curriculum and the e-learning modules. The beautiful setting provided the perfect backdrop for a critical yet constructive dialogue.
Throughout the sessions, the shared commitment among partners was unmistakable. The partners are clearly motivated to contribute to a high-impact result, something that’s no surprise given the project’s core focus:
The discussions during the meeting confirmed that the project is on the right track. A key strength of the SunMentors approach lies in its well-defined scope. The curriculum zooms in on two prevalent mental health issues among students in higher education: anxiety and depression. This clear thematic focus allows the project to explore these issues in depth while keeping the broader perspective of mental wellbeing in mind.
Equally important is the balanced attention given to both students and teachers mental health in the curriculum. Partners agreed that caring for the wellbeing of teaching staff is just as vital as supporting students. This insight shaped every part of the project’s development.
The Athens meeting highlighted how the earlier preparatory workshops laid a solid foundation for this developmental phase. As the full content was reviewed and feedback received, it became clear that elements are aligning and reinforcing each other.
But the meeting in Athens was also special in another way. It marked the final in-person gathering of the project team. Which was special, after working so intensely together around such an important topic.
With deadlines approaching, each university and college partner returned home with a clear task: finalizing the content for the curriculum by mid-May so Innovation Hive can start building the interactive e-learning platform. Fortunately, a short Easter break offered the perfect moment to recharge. With renewed energy, partners are now entering the final stretch of the content development.
