Invitation for students to workshop on supporting Student Mental Health

Student workshop invitation:

Subject: Invitation to Contribute to Student Mental Health Initiatives & Support Research

Dear Student,

I hope this message finds you well. You are invited to join us in a university-wide initiative aimed at reinforcing the support network for student mental health at the University of Hertfordshire.

Our mission is to cultivate a learning environment that supports not only the intellectual growth of our students but also their emotional and social wellbeing. Acknowledging the increasing prevalence of mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression, we are assembling a workshop to gather direct feedback and ideas from you, our students, whose voices are most valued in shaping effective support structures.

By participating in this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Voice your experiences: Share your insights on what works, what doesn’t, and how we can improve the student experience related to mental health.
  • Influence a European-wide training for university teaching staff: Directly affect the development of programmes and resources aimed at supporting student mental health in Europe.
  • Enhance your skillset: Gain valuable experience in supporting research that can enhance your CV and future career opportunities.

The workshop details are as follows:

Wednesday, 8th May 2024, 13:30 – 15:30 (including a short break), via Zoom, Students only.

Or

Wednesday, 22 May 2024, 12:00 – 2:00 pm (including a break), via Zoom, Mixed staff and students.

Your perspective is incredibly valuable, and your engagement will be integral to the success of our ongoing commitment to creating a supportive community at university.

The application form is attached for your reference. Please complete asap and confirm your availability by Monday 13 May 2024 so that we can finalise arrangements accordingly.

If you have any questions or need further details, do not hesitate to reach out to me at E.L.Whyte@herts.ac.uk.

Thank you for considering this invitation. We hope to collaborate with you in making a meaningful impact on our university’s approach to student mental health.

Best Wishes,

Ellice Whyte,
